After 35 years together, David and David chose a fall session in Central Park to celebrate their anniversary. Their connection was already easy and familiar; my job was to give them enough direction to feel comfortable, then step back when their humor and affection took over.
They have built a life around travel, curiosity, and not taking themselves too seriously. That spirit came through immediately and shaped the entire session.

Central Park gave us a useful mix of wooded paths, stone arches, open lawns, and glimpses of the city. We moved through a small area instead of chasing every landmark. That kept the experience relaxed and allowed the photographs to feel like one continuous afternoon rather than a checklist of locations.

When one David turned 70 and the other turned 60, they celebrated with what they called a “130-year-old birthday party.” That playful perspective was present throughout our time together. We made a few composed portraits, but the strongest frames came from movement, conversation, and the moments between instructions.

An engagement session does not need to feel like a performance. I offer clear guidance when it helps—where to stand, how to use the light, or when to slow down—but I am always looking for the expressions and gestures that cannot be manufactured. Trust matters more than perfect posing.

Choose a season and part of the park that feel natural to you, then leave enough room for the session to unfold. You can explore more couples and wedding photography, learn more about working with me, or get in touch about your own session.
